Worthwhile ways to waste a day

1. Walk around your neighborhood, take digital pictures of your ten favorite homes, and go home and create a slide show.

2. Guess the driving distance from your house to the homes of each of your friends and relatives; then get in your car and check your accuracy.

3. Make a list of all the household items you regularly use. Find the store that, on average, is the least expensive source.

4. Pretend you’re a tour guide and take yourself around your city.

5. Make a list of your ten favorite books and visit every library in your area until you’ve reread the first chapter of each one.

6. VIsit your favorite breakfast, lunch, and dinner restaurants and write a review of each.

7. Transcribe the lyrics of your favorite songs without consulting the internet.

8. Visit every neighbor on your block and get recommendations for the best gardener, bottled water company, and handyman.

9. Compare and contrast the two museums closest to where you live.

10. Start a matchbook collection by visiting every bar in town.

Definition of Procrastination

Procrastination is the critically important process of allowing your brain to breathe.

Putting off…

The longer you put something off, the greater the chance you’ll forget what it was you had to do.

3. Take it easy.

4. Life’s short; smell the roses.

DONE…

A great philosopher once said: What’s done is done; what’s not done will eventually be done unless it doesn’t get done.

Ways to use your workspace for anything but work

1. Spin in your chair until you’re too dizzy to work and need to lie down

2. Affix a dartboard to your computer monitor, back your chair up ten paces, and fire away.

3. Put your feet up on the desk and call a long-winded friend.

4. Create a different music playlist for each day of the week.

5. Sort through your digital photographs in search of the perfect screensaver.

6. Search through an office supply catalog for supplies you might need one day.

7. Contemplate creating a separate workspace in your office for brainstorming.

8. Investigate the perfect air freshener scent to create a soothing environment.

10. Implement a lengthy daily regimen of chair exercises.

To do list…

If you’re going to have a to-do list, it’s only fair that you also have a to-delay list.

Expectations

The lower your expectations, the less likelihood your procrastination will affect your productivity.

Fallen Behind

When you’ve fallen behind, the only way to catch up is to cross difficult tasks off your list.

Why do it at all?

Don’t sweat the small stuff–just don’t do any of it.
